Peace on earth…I wish.

..and so, this is Christmas. All the terrible events around the world. If world leaders are content to hide behind ‘diplomacy’ and not risk all for lasting peace, the innocents die anyway, but without the cold comfort that their death might have meant something. Who isn’t fearful for the first time?

I’m spending a few days in Sydney while the van is being fixed back in Bairnsdale. Man, even driving the van back from Pakenham along the freeway felt claustrophobic. Still, in a metropolis like Sydney, there are refuges. A ferry ride to Bundeena and some yum seafood restored my flagging spirits.

It’s been quite an adventure this year and it’s been a privilege to share the our/my adventures with you, the highs AND the lows. Now, I have nine blogs from the distant past that “fell off” the website due to a “technical issue” (me). I will be reposting them over the Xmas break, probably in a single burst of energy. Hopefully, you’ll be singing “Everything old is new again..” as you peruse them during a break in the cricket. I have not yet found a way to temporarily suspend my mailing list, so you will be notified ad nauseum as they hit the airwaves.

The good news is that I now know how to set up the Gallery, in theory at least. I know, I know. Watch me pull a rabbit out of a hat. Not sure where I’ll be over the next few weeks. The ‘lemmings’ will be pouring out of Melbourne any day now. I feel like a deer in their headlights. Do I outrun them further east or try to get back to Golden Beach? Either way, it’s going to be a Christmas experience I’m not going (to be able to) miss.

What’s in store for 2024? As soon as the heat goes out of summer, I’ll be heading north to do the Darling River Run through outback NSW and then into outback Queensland for the winter. Should be faaabulous darlings. So, to all my subscribers, casual viewers and friends, drink hard, eat well, play fair and drive safe.
